Biography

Ann has been a studio painter and ceramist since 1990. She lives and works from her studio in Amarillo Estate, Karnup WA. She has held numerous solo and selected art exhibitions in Perth. Her works are held in university and municipal collections in WA.

In 1997 Ann completed an Advanced Certificate of Art and Design, at the Central Metropolitan College of TAFE. In 2002 she completed a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) at Edith Cowan University for painting and ceramics.

Her recent solo exhibition 2009 titled 'Coloured Perspectives' revolved around architecture within the urban landscape of Western Australia.
The Artist Statement: Using a 'play' on light and shade together with the use of shifting perspectives it explores the concepts of illusion, reality, time and space within the interior and exterior (facades) of architecture. The playful nature of this work is to encourage the viewer to consider well known sites in a new light and with a new perspective. As the coloured perspectives change through light and shade, shifting objects and viewing different perspectives together with historical referencing it continues to form into a new time, a new space and finally into a new surrealism.
